KLANG, May 29 — Singapore-based YCH Group officially launched its RM500 million Supply Chain City Malaysia (SCC MY) project in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, Selangor, with a groundbreaking ceremony officiated by Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
Positioned as a strategic component of Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), SCC MY is not merely a logistics park but a state-of-the-art ecosystem that integrates technology, sustainability, and supply chain resilience. Minister Tengku Zafrul described the project as “more than a warehouse or distribution center – it represents Malaysia’s commitment to industrial transformation and supply chain innovation.”
A Technologically Advanced Logistics Hub
The development will feature YCH’s proprietary FUSIONARIS system, combining automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) with multi-tier warehouse designs. SCC MY will also incorporate cutting-edge solutions such as real-time warehouse management systems, inventory drones, and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Scheduled for completion within two and a half years, the facility aims to be Malaysia’s first integrated smart logistics complex, reinforcing the country’s position as a preferred destination for regional and global supply chain activities.
Talent Development and Regional Impact
A key component of the project is human capital development. YCH will collaborate with Singapore’s Supply Chain and Logistics Academy (SCALA) to implement the LEARN™ ecosystem in Malaysia, helping local talents upskill in response to the evolving demands of the logistics sector.
“This partnership ensures that our local workforce is well-equipped to support Malaysia’s aspirations for a high-value, knowledge-driven economy,” said Tengku Zafrul, noting that logistics is now a central pillar of industrial and trade growth in ASEAN.
Strategic Regional Milestone
Tengku Zafrul emphasized the broader significance of SCC MY, calling it a “milestone in Malaysia–Singapore cooperation” and a physical manifestation of Malaysia’s growing role as a regional logistics and trade hub.
He noted that Malaysia achieved a 15% growth in investments last year and that the SCC MY project would further strengthen economic momentum. The initiative also aligns with ASEAN’s ambitions for smarter, more integrated logistics networks, particularly as Malaysia prepares to chair ASEAN in 2025.
Endorsements from Key Stakeholders
Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group, remarked: “Supply Chain City Malaysia will raise the bar for logistics excellence in Malaysia. We are committed to equipping local talents with the skills needed to make Malaysia a global hub for business and logistics.”
Datuk Seri Azmir Merican, Managing Director of Sime Darby Property, highlighted that the development will anchor Bandar Bukit Raja’s role in ASEAN’s supply chain networks. “This project represents cross-border collaboration at its best,” he said.
Datuk Seri Wira Arham Abdul Rahman, CEO of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), praised the project as a milestone in Malaysia’s logistics sector. “It supports our ambition to attract high-value investments while improving the nation’s competitiveness and economic resilience.”
SCC MY also reinforces the goals of the ASEAN 2045 Kuala Lumpur Declaration, and contributes to building a digitally advanced and interconnected regional economy.
With the combined efforts of YCH, Sime Darby Property, MIDA, and other strategic partners, the project exemplifies innovation, resilience, and partnership—laying the foundation for Malaysia to become a cornerstone in the future of ASEAN’s supply chain landscape.
