Trading Suspension on May 28; Potential Delisting on May 30 Pending Appeal
KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 – Two industrial companies listed on Bursa Malaysia’s Main Market — Sarawak Cable Berhad (SCABLE, 5170) and Annum Berhad (ANNUM, 5082) — are at risk of being delisted after failing to meet requirements to submit their restructuring plans within the stipulated deadline.
Both companies, which have been classified under Practice Note 17 (PN17) due to financial distress, announced via separate statements that their applications to extend the deadline for submission of their regularisation plans were rejected by Bursa Malaysia. As a result, trading of their shares will be suspended starting Wednesday, May 28, and both companies may be delisted on Friday, May 30, unless an appeal is submitted before May 27.

Sarawak Cable: No Material Progress in Restructuring
In its statement, Sarawak Cable said the application for an extension was rejected because it failed to demonstrate material progress in its restructuring efforts. The company has already received three extensions since being classified as a PN17 entity in September 2022, with the most recent deadline set for March 31, 2025.
Bursa Malaysia found the latest submission insufficient to justify another extension. As of May 20, 2025, Sarawak Cable’s shares closed at RM0.08, with a market capitalisation of approximately RM30.15 million.
Annum Berhad: Extension Denied on Similar Grounds
Annum Berhad also announced that it had failed to obtain an extension for submitting its restructuring plan and will therefore suspend trading from May 28, with a potential delisting to follow on May 30. Like Sarawak Cable, Annum has until May 27 to submit an appeal to Bursa Malaysia.
Delisting Does Not Affect Corporate Existence
Bursa Malaysia clarified that if the companies are delisted, their corporate existence remains intact. They may continue to operate and pursue restructuring or business activities under the Companies Act 2016.
However, their shares will no longer be traded on the stock exchange, meaning shareholder liquidity and market accessibility will be significantly limited.
